Partners in Accountable, Quality Health Care
BHCG’s goal is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the health care system in Southeast Wisconsin while making sure that consumers have accurate information to make informed health care choices. We believe that the only way to achieve that goal is to work in a close, collaborative partnership with local health care providers, employers and consumers.
What We Believe
Health care providers are accountable for the quality of care delivered, compliance with best practice, appropriate resource utilization, controlling cost structures, prospective pricing and support for information transparency.
What We Do
Through the Humana Preferred (BHCG), a high-performance network, BHCG works closely with providers to measure and report compliance with best medical practices and share information to help them gauge their efficiency. We hold providers accountable to control costs and work with them to identify ways to improve as well as to monitor their improvements over time. Through various quality initiatives, we work closely with providers to improve quality and encourage their commitment to the Wisconsin Collaborative for Health Care Quality.
As part of our commitment to information transparency, we ask providers to disclose health care cost and effectiveness information that consumers can use to make more informed health care choices. We encourage all providers to learn more about our approach and to communicate with us as to the needs and improvements they have made in improving health care for the community.

Please note: Physicians who are currently Humana contracted physicians and are not currently included in the Humana Preferred (BHCG) plan offering will be evaluated annually for possible participation.
