We believe the best way to accomplish goals is for the business community to work closely with consumers, physicians, and our insurance administrator to effect positive change in the market. In addition to BHCG individual company members, we also work with Sponsoring Organizations and Associate Members.

Our Administrative Partner: Humana

BHCG has partnered with Humana to provide Plan offerings supported by a High Performance network that meets the needs of our members while helping us work toward our short-term and long-term goals. After deciding to consolidate benefits administration of BHCG members as a strategy to move the market, we accepted proposals from various benefits plan administrators to be our administrative partner.

We chose Humana after a lengthy review process because we felt they best supported our objectives. Their commitment to consumerism and information transparency is demonstrated in the consumer tools, provider information and benefits they offer to their employees as well as customers. They also offer all members access to a personal care nurse and seek provider compliance with evidence-based medicine through ActiveHealth Management. ActiveHealth Management compares claims data to evidence-based medicine guidelines to determine compliance and informs physicians and consumers of opportunities for improvement when needed.

Humana supports consumer information while building a strong working relationship with providers, and they have a strong consumer education component that we believe is essential to success of a market-driven health care model.
