Our Commitment
BHCG is committed to ensuring that quality of care is maintained among health care providers in Southeast Wisconsin and that consumers have accurate information on not only costs of health care, but also on how providers compare on patient safety and quality measures.

In meeting this goal, BHCG is an active member of Wisconsin Healthcare Purchasers for Quality. That organization is a network of Wisconsin purchasers and allies with a strong commitment to creating and promoting widely available uniform and comparative information on health care cost, quality and patient safety. That group is also affiliated with the national Leapfrog Group.

Wisconsin Healthcare Purchasers for Quality
Wisconsin Healthcare Purchasers for Quality supports the tracking of outcome-based data related to medical procedures. It is guided by the concept that value-based purchasing and greater consumerism are not possible without publicly available information on health care cost and quality. Additionally, the group contends that public disclosure of health care comparisons drives improvement by health care providers. In addition to providing quality data and efforts to broaden that data, the organization also provides tools to help consumers measure the quality of their physician’s care.

Leapfrog Initiative

Composed of more than 150 public and private organizations that provide health care benefits, The Leapfrog Group works with medical experts throughout the United States to identify problems and propose solutions that it believes will improve hospital systems that could break down and harm patients. Representing approximately 34 million health care consumers in all 50 states, Leapfrog provides important information and solutions for consumers and health care providers.
