BHCG is pursuing a long-term strategy for changing the way health care is used, managed and delivered. Our goal is to develop a market-driven health care system. In such a system, educated consumers make choices using reliable information about the efficiency and effectiveness of the health care they receive. Providers would compete to meet patient needs by delivering care with the best outcomes at the best cost.

What We Believe

Collaborative partnerships and accountability by all parties are essential to making positive changes in the health care system. We seek collaborative relationships with our administrator, Humana, as well as with providers, consumers, and our employer members.

What We Do

BHCG looks at opportunities for collective purchasing of health care services that allow us to use resources most effectively and contain costs. We decided to consolidate benefits administration among our members as a way to move the market toward a more cost-effective, quality-driven health care system. We chose Humana as our benefits administrator because of its leadership in consumerism and its ability to meet our goals.
